Integrated Pest Management for Citrus

The Citrus Academy proudly announces the new IPM for Citrus DVD set.

The Citrus Academy is pleased to present the Integrated Pest Management for Citrus DVD set of audio-visual learning material.

A request from the grower body was received at the start of 2011 for the development of an audio-visual learning tool, aimed at developing skills and knowledge around monitoring for citrus pests. Citrus Academy in collaboration with the CRI and with the support of the CGA heeded that call!

The programme consists of four modules, as follows:
Module 1 – Pre-Harvest Pest Control
Module 2 – Pest Monitoring
Module 3 – Pre-Harvest Blemish Analysis
Modules 4 – Interpreting Monitoring Results

The DVD set will be made available free of charge to all CGA member growers. The estimated combined length of the programme is 90 minutes. It will be made available on two DVDs in a boxed set, accompanied by a CD containing learning material on each module in printable PDF format.

The Citrus Academy is a Section 21 company that was established by the Citrus Grower's Association of Southern Africa to create an enabling environment for skills development within the Southern African citrus industry. The Academy addresses the challenges of low skills levels, scarce and critical skills, employment equity, land transition and quality skills delivery within the Southern African citrus industry.
